MCA Pressing Plant, Pinckneyville


[l878]' Illinois record pressing plant. Opened in 1958 under Decca and changed to the MCA name in 1966. It remained open until the Spring of 2007. The identifiable runout marking is a stamped picture of two diamond shapes with a P in the middle: ??-P-?? Prior to January 1973, Pinckneyville pressings were identified by a stamped or written "2" in the deadwax, while pressings by [l=MCA Pressing Plant, Gloversville] were indicated by a number or stick "1" (in the latter form, shown as I) in the deadwax. Decca pressings from this plant were also identified by a ?? symbol at the end of the B side label matrix.
